Dear EAGLE Mesa Community,

This school year has been such a pleasure to get to know you and your children. EAGLE Mesa is my happy place. Every day is a new opportunity to engage with our scholars as they learn and grow.

This year included tremendous growth for our scholars. Dedicated teachers and staff worked diligently to close gaps. Teachers spent time in professional learning communities reviewing testing data to best plan how to meet scholars’ needs. Wednesday afternoons were another opportunity to staff to learn together. Time was spent this year diving deeply into best practices in reading and math instruction in addition to creating a framework for positive behavior interventions and supports.

One of my goals this year was to partner with the community to bring enhanced programming and services to our school. We decided to pursue an emphasis on agriculture science that would give scholars an opportunity to apply science concepts in a real-world setting. The addition of our tortoise Franklin, our bunnies Trix and Lil Puff, planting our salsa garden, constructing our greenhouse have been rich lessons that expand learning beyond the classroom walls. We are thankful for the generous grant of $5000 we received from The Diamondbacks Charities that helped to make our agriculture dreams a reality. In the coming year, we plan on adding additional green spaces and welcoming more animal friends to campus.

As always, thank you for allowing me to serve your family. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 602-268-1212 or at stephanie.phillips@eagleprep.org.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Phillips
