As the Principal at EAGLE College Prep Mesa, my primary responsibility is to ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment for all. We do that by nurturing a positive, caring, and welcoming school environment for both students and their families. Before I joined EAGLE, I worked as an educational consultant, where I helped develop individual teachers and administrators, and led improvement efforts for struggling schools and school districts. I started my educational career as a first-grade teacher, and subsequently taught 2nd, 5th , 6th , 7th, and 8th grades. Teaching students is my first love, and foundational to my approach as a leader.
I completed my undergraduate work at Western Michigan University (Go Bronco’s!), and have Masters degree’s from Northern Arizona University and Grand Canyon University (Educational Leadership).
At EAGLE Mesa, positive relationships are key to a positive school culture and climate. I believe that developing positive relationships in the school and community is essential to cognitive learning and increasing my sphere of influence. As Dean of Students, I work alongside teachers to develop engaging, long lasting, relevant learning experiences for all children. My favorite day of the week is Wednesday because the scholars and I get to discuss how our behaviors and character impact our school, family, and community.
I have a Master’s in Educational Supervision and Leadership and a Master’s in Business Administration. I bring a wealth of educational experience as I enter my 4th year with EAGLE.
As the School Operations Manager at EAGLE Mesa, I do a lot of the behind-the-scenes work. I manage the meal programs (breakfast and lunch) as well as direct purchasing and vendor processes. I also currently oversee the Chromebook program.
I am a graduate of Minnesota State University with a degree in Psychology. I have been with EAGLE College Prep since 2012 and have served both the Mesa and Phoenix South locations.
